I've always been a huge fan of Frida Kahlo's work, which is one of the reasons why I found For Love & Lemons' new summer collection cookbook to be absolutely incredible. Inspired by the former artist, the label said that Kahlo's "
colorful flare put them in a design frenzy for the summer collection,
" although colorful is somewhat of an understatement. Appropriately titled
Viva La Vida ("live the life"), you almost feel as if you're looking through an art exhibit rather than a clothing lookbook. It was really inspiring to see For Love & Lemons open the collection with a Frida-reminscent portrait of their uniquely beautiful model, Valeria Efanova (painted exclusively for the collection by John Cahn) and end with a quote by Kahlo.
Viva La Vida has a Free People meets Planet Blue meets Stone_Cold_Fox feel. It's a pretty lengthy post but I found it hard to pick which photos to leave out, considering I thought it was best viewed as a whole (see the entire collection after the jump).
Oh I love this
